A word of wisdom is something spoken that brings the wisdom of God into a situation to find a solution to an issue that may have been difficult to resolve otherwise.
Example of the spiritual gift of word of wisdom:
Paul wrote: "(to) one (a) WORD (of) WIDSOM IS-GIVEN through the SPIRIT" (1 Corinthians 12:8).
Jesus said to His apostles that when they will be arrested: "I WILL-GIVE you (a) MOUTH, and WISDOM which all the (ones) being opposed (to) you will not be-able to-resist or to-speak-against" (Luke 21:15). Jesus added: "whatever IS-GIVEN (to) you in that hour, SPEAK this. For you are not the (ones) speaking, but the Holy SPIRIT" (Mark 13:11).
Paul the apostle, who wrote about how a "WORD (of) WIDSOM IS-GIVEN through the SPIRIT" (1 Corinthians 12:8), may have experienced that in the book of Acts. When Paul was arrested and had to stand before the Sanhedrin composed of both Pharisees and Sadducees, Paul said to them: "I am (a) Pharisee, (a) son (of) Pharisees. I am-being-judged concerning (the) hope and resurrection (of the) dead (ones)" (Acts 23:6). This would have been a word of wisdom, because the Sanhedrin was composed of both Pharisees and Sadducees, and "having-said this, (a) dispute (between) the Pharisees and Sadducees took-place, and the assembly was-divided. For Sadducees say (that) there-is not (a) resurrection, nor (an) angel, nor (a) spirit, but Pharisees confess both" (Acts 23:7-8).
Here before that, Paul has been preaching about the resurrection of Jesus, and then had been arrested for various reasons, but instead of mentioning the different reasons for why he was arrested, he mentioned instead that he was "(a) Pharisee" (Acts 23:6) and he mentioned that he was being judged concerning the "resurrection (of the) dead (ones)" (Acts 23:6) as fundamentally he was preaching about Jesus who rose from the dead ones. And this created a division among the ones who were SUPPOSED to judge him, leading him to NOT END UP BEING JUDGED by them at that time.
Other examples: Jesus:
Jesus would have experienced several times speaking a "WORD (OF) WISDOM" (1 Corinthians 12:8).
Matthew 21:
Some people tested Jesus, asking: "By what-kind-of authority are-You-doing these (things), and who gave You this authority?" (Matthew 21:23). Jesus answered: "From-where was the baptism (of) John, from heaven or from humans?" (Matthew 21:24).
This would have been a WORD of WISDOM, as then it is written that "And the (ones) were-discussing among themselves, saying, “If we-say, ‘From heaven’, He-will-say (to) us, ‘Then for what reason did-you not believe him?’ But if we-say, ‘From humans’, we-fear the crowd. For they all are-holding John as (a) prophet”." (Matthew 21:25-26).
Here after this word of wisdom from Jesus, the people did not know how to answer, and because they did not really answer in the end, Jesus told them that He will not give them the answer also.
Matthew 22:
Some people tested Jesus, asking: "Is-it-lawful to-give (a) poll-tax (to) Caesar, or not?" (Matthew 22:17). Jesus answered: "Show Me the coin (for) the poll-tax”. And the (ones) brought to-Him (a) denarius. And He-says (to) them, “Whose (is) this image and inscription?” They-say (to) Him, “Caesar’s”." (Matthew 22:19-21).
Here is when Jesus added: "Then give-back the (things of) Caesar (to) Caesar, and the (things of) God (to) God" (Matthew 22:21). This would have been a WORD of WISDOM.
On the coin of the poll tax, there was the image of Caesar, and so what is in the image of Caesar needs to be given back to Caesar, but the things of God need to be given back to God. As the people themselves were created in the image of God, they would need to give back what is of Caesar to Caesar, BUT what is of God to God.
Another example: Solomon:
Solomon would have experienced speaking a "WORD (OF) WISDOM" (1 Corinthians 12:8).
It is written about the king Solomon that "the WISDOM of God was in him, to be doing judgment" (1 Kings 3:28). This is mentioned after two women came to Solomon each claiming that a child belongs to them. To know to which the child belongs, Solomon would have had a WORD of WISDOM, as it is written that "the king SAID to them, “You say, ‘This is my son, the one living, and this [woman’s] son [is] the one having died.’ And you say, ‘No, but my son is the one living, and your son [is] the one having died.’” And the king said, “Bring me a sword.” And they brought the sword before the king. And the king said, “Divide the nursing living child, into two; and give half of him to this (one), and half of him to that (one)!” (1 Kings 3:23-25).
This would have been a WORD of WISDOM meant to reveal who the actual mother of the child was, as it is then written that "Then the woman of whom was the living son, answered and said to the king (for her womb was troubled over her son), and she said, “By me, O lord, give her the child, and by death, you you shall surely not kill him!” But that one said, “Let him be neither mine nor hers; divide him!” Then the king answered and said, “Give the child to the one saying, ‘Give him to her, by death, you you shall surely not kill him.’ She is his mother!”" (1 Kings 3:26). By this word Solomon found who the mother of that child was.
